About the project

Mixing Realities transformed a private apartment into an immersive artistic journey exploring a profound question: Is reality something we experience alone, or something we create together?

Blending contemporary art, live audiovisual performance, audience participation, and collective creation, the experience invited visitors to question how memories, emotions, media, and imagination shape the realities we inhabit.

IS REALITY OBJECTIVE, OR DOES EACH OF US LIVE INSIDE OUR OWN VERSION OF IT?

The way we remember, interpret, and imagine the world is constantly influenced by emotions, culture, media, relationships, and personal experiences.

Mixing Realities explored these invisible processes, encouraging participants to question certainty, embrace multiple perspectives, and recognise that reality is often something we collectively construct rather than individually observe.

A SEQUENCE OF ARTISTIC ENCOUNTERS WHERE VISITORS MOVED BETWEEN INSTALLATIONS, PERFORMANCES, CONVERSATIONS, AND PARTICIPATORY INTERVENTIONS.

Hosted in a private apartment, in this experience, each artwork approached reality from a different perspective —from photography and moving image to digital expressionism, personal memories, and collective imagination— gradually building an immersive journey that blurred the boundaries between observer, participant, and co-creator.

PARTICIPATION WAS AT THE CENTRE OF THE EXPERIENCE.

Rather than simply viewing artworks, visitors actively contributed to how the exhibition unfolded.

Interactive & Immersive Room

Everythin Is A Fiction

Everything Is a Fiction was an interactive mixed-media installation that invited visitors to reflect on the increasingly blurred boundary between artificial and photographic imagery.

By asking audiences to identify the only real photograph among AI-generated works, the installation transforms observation into participation, creating an immersive experience that explores perception, collective decision-making, and the fragile nature of truth in the digital age.

Prompt Journey

Reality Reflection System

Throughout the exhibition, visitors encountered artworks accompanied by reflective prompts accessible through QR codes.

Questions invited participants to upload photographs, videos, drawings, memories, or personal reflections that represented concepts such as beauty, fear, dreams, or reality itself.

Each contribution became part of the exhibition's evolving dialogue.

Participatory Performance

Co-creating Digital Expressionism

The evening culminated in a live performance by visual artist Erik López (IMGN).

Using only media submitted by visitors throughout the experience, Erik improvised a large-scale digital artwork in real time.

The audience did not simply witness the artwork, but became its material.
