WORKSHOPS
& TALKS
Participatory sessions for learning, reflection, and exchange.
I design and facilitate talks, workshops, lectures, and guided conversations for cultural institutions, universities, and creative communities.
Drawing from lived experience, research, and strategic practice, each session combines ideas with prompts, exercises, or collective activities that invite participants to reflect, exchange knowledge, and apply what they learn.

WHAT I SPEAK ABOUT

NAVIGATING CULTURAL ECOSYSTEMS
Understanding new cultural scenes, finding your place, building relationships and accessing opportunities.

ARTISTIC IDENTITY & BRANDING
Building a recognisable brand without disconnecting communication from the values and identity behind the work.

PARTICIPATION & EXPERIENCE DESIGN
Designing cultural experiences where audiences contribute, reflect, learn and create meaning.

CREATIVE CAREERS & STRATEGY
Turning ideas into viable projects, developing proposals, positioning your practice and navigating institutions.

Invite Xav
Looking for a talk, workshop, or participatory session for your community or programme?
I design each session around its audience and context, combining ideas, reflection, and active participation to create experiences people can connect with, contribute to, and carry something away from.
PARTICIPATION IS DESIGNED, NOT ADDED.
I don't see learning as a one-way exchange. My sessions are designed to move participants from listening to reflecting, contributing, exchanging, and ultimately applying something to their own lives or practices.
Depending on the audience and context, I combine storytelling and practical knowledge with questions, exercises, mapping, group conversations, and participatory tools I design specifically for the experience.
The format changes, but the principle remains the same: participation is not an activity added at the end of a session. It is part of how the learning happens.
Sottobosco Arts Residency
My Life's Garden
This two-hour experience helped participants transition from everyday life into the slower rhythm of a week-long residency in nature.
Following a mountain hike, Tai Chi walking, breathing, and grounding exercises led into a personal mapping activity using the garden as a metaphor for participants’ creative lives—their resources, relationships, needs, ideas, and cycles.

Afterschool / Znak Community
Underground Frequencies
A live conversation exploring Barcelona's sound culture through migration, belonging, nightlife, radio, sustainability, and the informal relationships through which people enter a creative scene.
Rather than ending with the speaker's perspective, participants contributed their own knowledge to a collective map—turning individual experiences into a shared resource on Barcelona's sound ecosystem.

Artist Ally x Znak Community
Finding Your Way in a New Cultural Ecosystem
A participatory session exploring what it means to build a creative life after migration—from understanding a city's cultural ecosystem to recognising community as an essential form of infrastructure.
The talk moved into a physical version of the Artist Ally Navigator, where participants identified their current needs and followed different pathways towards reflection, connection, orientation, or action.

UIC Barcelona
From the Classroom to the World
Drawing from my own journey from cultural management studies into Barcelona's cultural ecosystem, this session explored how emerging practitioners can navigate institutions, build relationships, and turn ideas into compelling cultural proposals.
Reflection prompts and practical exercises connected the conversation back to participants' own ambitions and next steps.

FROM LISTENING TO DOING.
